Emily Cassidy

Intern Architect

Bio

When Emily was young, she saw her older sister drawing a floorplan of her dream house. In younger-sibling fashion, Emily wanted to do the same thing and it stuck. While her friends wanted to play, Emily insisted on getting their wish list so she could design for them too. She can still remember the excitement of learning this could be a career.

Emily has experience working in New Brunswick, Ontario, and British Columbia. While she has worked on a range of typologies, residential projects have remained her main motivation.

Travelling metropolitan areas and a Masters studio in Brazil has fed Emily’s interest in housing equity in dense urban environments. Working in Vancouver in a time of policy change and densification continues to enhance her motivation to earn her designation in the profession.

Education & Credentials

Emily holds a Master of Architecture from Carleton University and she is registered as an Intern Architect AIBC. She also holds a Master of Environmental Design Studies (Design-Build) and a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies from Dalhousie University.
