Bio

As founder and Principal of Stuart Howard Architects, Stuart is focused on innovative design, mixed-use, institutional and residential projects both at home and abroad. Through nearly 40 years of practice, his passion for inventive design solutions has always inspired the creation of meaningful and memorable projects, resulting in multiple City of Vancouver Heritage Awards, Georgie Awards, Heritage Society of BC Awards, Western Living Awards among others. He has been the designer and principal in charge of over 350 buildings throughout British Columbia, the Pacific Northwest, the Caribbean and Hawaii.

Education Credentials

Stuart holds a Bachelor of Architecture Honors from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California and is registered to practice architecture in British Columbia (Architect.AIBC), Saskatchewan (SAA), Washington State (AIA), California (AIA) and is a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (FRAIC.) He is past president of both the AIBC as well as the RAIC. In his spare time, he volunteers as a Chair of the RAIC foundation, he is a board member of the AFBC and a board member of the AIA international region.
